Harry: I’m here with David, and David do you live in Chatham, what do you like about Chatham?

David: I think it’s a nice quiet area and it’s peaceful for me as well ’cause when I used to live in Sevenoaks mate I used to get bullied around, I used to go do a lot of stealing yeah. What I did alright, and I actually got done for it and I went to prison for it as well. I went to prison for about 12 months, but I did 6 months inside and 6 months with basing. Now because I’m a free man I can go out enjoy myself and go out and meet other friends as well.

Harry: Is there anything that can be improved about Chatham?

David: Well, I think at the moment I’ve seen a lot of People living out on the bloody streets and I think it’s fucking horrible what they’re doing, they’re trying to get accommodation and they can’t get nothing like that can they it’s disgraceful. And I’ve seen people outside begging for money as well and it’s not nice and I think I better give them a bit of money so they can live somewhere nice and warm.

Harry: If you had one message for either Chatham council or in fact, the government, what would that be?

David: I think the government are not doing their bloody jobs properly, the council mate it’s shit and they are not doing simply fuck all for anybody, all they’re doing is letting people live on the fucking streets, no food for them, what is going on?

Harry: On a more positive note, what do you think is the best thing about Chatham?

David: Where I’m living at the moment, it’s a nice quiet area but I’d like to get a place of my own so I can do things for myself you see. I like to go out, enjoy myself go to parties.

Harry: On that topic, where’s your favourite place to go out in Chatham?

David: I like to go to nightclubs in Chatham, casino rooms that’s lovely.
